Students spend the last weeks of school studying the different nations and cultures from around the world. On the last day of school, students and staff will wear the colors and traditional dress of countries from around the world and carry flags as they second line around campus neighborhood, sharing the International experience, celebrating diversity with the local community, in true New Orleans spirit.Dedicated to cultural diversity and global awareness, ISL (grades K-8) is the only multi-language immersion school chartered by the State of Louisiana. From their first day of school, students are taught core academic subjects in either French or Spanish. At ISL, children learn a second language naturally, through everyday conversation and classroom instruction.
