Morris Jeff Community Easter Egg Hunt next Thursday will be more than just egg hunting

Date: March 28th, 2018
Annual Egg Hunt is slated for March 29 at Mid-City school

In honor of the school’s namesake, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity will host the annual egg hunt for the youngest students at Morris Jeff Community School, 211 S. Lopez, on Thursday, March 29, at 8:30 A.M. in the covered playground.

The students in PreK, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades will participate in the celebration of spring with a visit  from the Easter Bunny. The fraternity supplies beautiful baskets for the students to collect their finds. Members of Kappa Alpha Psi will share about the legacy of Morris F.X. Jeff, Sr., who was a member of the fraternity, as well as read books to the children. Shannon O’Connor, MJCS Dean of Students, helps host the event.

O’Connor says, “We are grateful for the Kappa Alpha Psi’s contribution to our school community. By their example, the children are inspired to give back to the community in the same way as Morris Jeff and his fraternity brothers.”

“The Kappa’s have been our partners since we opened Morris Jeff Community School in 2010,” said Head of School, Patricia Perkins. “Not only can we count on them to host our annual egg hunt, they generously donated iPads to our students a few years back, and have even counseled some of our students.Through the Kappa’s we continue to feel the influence of Mr. Jeff and see his light shining through his fraternity brothers.”
