New Orleans, LA (November 20, 2025) — Hynes Charter Schools are reporting strong academic gains across all three campuses following the release of the 2025 School Performance Scores (SPS) from the Louisiana Department of Education. The results highlight meaningful year-to-year growth, reinforce Hynes’ long-standing reputation for academic excellence, and position all three campuses among the Top 10 open-enrollment elementary schools in New Orleans, announced Hynes Charter Network Chief Executive Officer Dr. Michelle Douglas.

“Our campuses continue to show impressive progress,” said Dr. Douglas. “These results reflect the strength of our instructional model and the dedication of our students, teachers, staff and families. Hynes remains a place where students are supported, challenged, and encouraged to reach their highest potential.”

2025 SPS Highlights:

• Hynes–Lakeview: Maintaining its “A” rating for the 14th consecutive year, Hynes-Lakeview increased its overall SPS by two points. The campus earned both Opportunity Honoree and Top Gains Honoree distinctions

• Hynes–Parkview: Now in its fourth year within the Hynes Charter Network, Hynes-Parkview continues its upward turnaround. The campus has improved an amazing 38.7 points overall since joining the network, including a 6.2-point increase this year. Parkview also earned an “A” on the Progress Index, signifying strong student growth.

• Hynes–UNO: Hynes-UNO increased an impressive 9.9 points on the Progress Index which reflects growth in student performance.   Under the state’s updated accountability system, the campus is rated a “B” school.

In addition to academic growth, the Hynes Charter Network holds recognition as a Cognia® System of Distinction, an honor awarded to only 60 schools worldwide, underscoring the network’s commitment to instructional rigor, innovation, and global-minded learning.

“This distinction represents the collective efforts of our entire school community,” Dr. Douglas added. “It underscores the network’s ongoing focus on providing high-quality education and ensuring students receive the support and opportunities they need to succeed.”

Hynes Charter Schools have been a cornerstone of quality education for over 70 years. The  network includes Hynes-Lakeview (PK3 – 8), Hynes-UNO (K-6 – growing each year to K-8),  and Hynes-Parkview (K-8). Hynes-Lakeview and Hynes-UNO also offer state-accredited,  World Language Certified French immersion programs, further enriching the diverse educational  experiences available to students.

As the Hynes Charter Network continues to grow, the focus remains on maintaining its  exemplary record while building opportunities for every student to succeed. “For over seven  decades, Hynes has been synonymous with academic excellence,” said Dr. Douglas. “Our 2025  results prove we continue to deliver on our promise to provide an exceptional education for all students in our care.”
