January 10 Open House at New Campus

IHSNO now housed 2733 Esplanade Ave. after 13 years in CBD

The International High School of New Orleans (IHSNO) will hold an Open House for prospective students interested in attending for the 2024-25 school year  at its new campus on January 10, 5:30 – 7:30 at 2733 Esplanade Ave. To register for the open house or to schedule a tour, go to www.ihsnola.org , email GoIHSNO@ihsnola.org or call  (504) 613-5703.

IHSNO’s open house is the first public meeting to be held at the school’s new Esplanade Avenue campus. The school, which is an International Baccalaureate college preparatory charter school open to all Louisiana residents, has moved from its former Central Business District campus of 13 years.

IHSNO Chief Executive Officer Adirah Berger said “Although we will miss our wonderful downtown neighbors, like the Downtown Development District, who supported and nurtured our growing school community, we are excited to have a more central and accessible location to offer our students and staff. We’re excited for our future just as we treasure our past!”

At the International High School of New Orleans, students earn an internationally recognized diploma that prepares them to live, learn, and work worldwide, said CEO Berger. IHSNO graduates hold national records for college acceptance and scholarship awards.

IHSNO was the first high school in New Orleans to offer students the opportunity to participate in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP), recognized and respected by the world’s leading universities for its ability to encourage students to think broadly, beyond the boundaries of their communities, and to develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills needed to live, learn and work in a global economy. Students in the IB DP are more likely to get university acceptance, qualify for scholarships, and succeed in their post-secondary educational endeavors, said CEO Berger.

In 2023, IHSNO seniors earned over $25 million in scholarship awards, including nationally recognized student Dennis “Maliq” Barnes, who was accepted into 185 universities and awarded over ten million dollars in scholarship funds.
