Discovery Schools 2nd Annual Bayou Jam Jambalaya Cook-Off and 5k Fun Run to be Held April 29

Kenner, LA – April 13, 2023 – Discovery Schools proudly presents the 2nd Annual Bayou Jam Jambalaya Cook-Off and 5k Fun Run to be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, 8:30 AM – 2 PM. The event will take place at Kenner Discovery’s high school campus located at 3837 Loyola Drive, Kenner, LA 70065. 

The family-friendly event will consist of a 5K fun run, and a jambalaya cook-off. In addition to the fun run and all-you-can-eat jambalaya, kids and kids at heart will enjoy inflatables, music, and student performances. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs. Tickets are on sale now and cost $25 per person age 6 and up. Kids 5 and under are free. The ticket price includes entry for one and all-you-can-eat jambalaya. The 5K fun run will start at 8:30 a.m. The jambalaya cookoff will follow the race and go until 2 p.m. For those not participating in the fun run, jambalaya will begin serving at approximately 10 a.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Discovery Athletic Department. 

We are looking for cook-off teams! Think you have the best jambalaya recipe? Now is the time you can prove it! Teams should consist of 4-6 members and include 1 captain.  The registration fee is $100.  Registration and payment are due by April 21, 2023.
