International School of Louisiana Celebrates Cultural Diversity with International Day Second Line Parade on May 29
Students and staff will celebrate cultures from around the world in true New Orleans style with second line parades around campus wearing traditional dress from countries represented
WHAT: The International School of Louisiana (ISL) invites the community to join its annual International Day Second Line Parade, a vibrant celebration of global cultures. This special event embodies the spirit of New Orleans and showcases the diverse backgrounds of our students.
ISL’s International Day Second Line Parade is a festive culmination of a year-long exploration of various nations and cultures by its language immersion students. Participants, dressed in traditional attire from around the world, will parade around the Uptown campus and Coliseum Square. Carrying flags and adorned in the colors of 31 countries from around the world, they will share their international experiences and celebrate the rich diversity within the ISL community.
WHEN: Wednesday, May 29, 2024
9:00 AM – Student/Teacher preparation for International Parade in Classrooms- showcase of countries and cultures from around the world (closed to the public but media are invited to attend)
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM – The International School of Louisiana’s (Uptown Campus) parade will take place on Wednesday, May 29th starting at 10am.
