The International School of Louisiana (ISL) voted Best Grammar School as a part of Gambit Weekly’s Best of New Orleans 2022

September 27, 2002 – The winners of Gambit Weekly’s 2022 Best of New Orleans issue were announced and readers ranked The International School of Louisiana (ISL) “Best Grammar School”.

“We are so proud to be chosen as the #1 Best Grammar School in the metro New Orleans area,” said International School of Louisiana (ISL) Head of School Melanie Tennyson.  “This honor shows the love that our community has for ISL. Every day, our amazing teachers, students, and staff work so incredibly hard and truly deserve this award. Thank you to everyone who voted for us!”

After a month of voting by its readers, Gambit Weekly tallied its over 10,000 votes to name the winners of its popular Best of New Orleans issue. The annual issue ranks readers’ favorite local businesses and organizations in various categories. 

The International School of Louisiana (ISL) is an open enrollment French and Spanish language immersion school. ISL has grown to be one of the largest K-8 schools in the city, with 1,100 students serving three campuses in Orleans Parish. ISL is the only tuition-free, multi-language immersion school in Louisiana.
