Morris Jeff Community School Finds Permanent Home for Middle School at Drew Campus for 2022-23 School Year Morris Jeff Community School, a top-performing, open-admissions public charter school and the only authorized PK-12 International Baccalaureate World School in Louisiana, will have a new, permanent home for its middle school for the 2022-23 school year at the former Drew Elementary campus located at 3819 St. Claude Ave.Head of School Patricia Perkins said the move will give the middle school, serving grades 6-8, a permanent home in the 9th Ward, thanks to an announcement by NOLA-PS this week. This year, the middle school has been located in a “swing space” on Esplanade Avenue due to the school’s expanding elementary population. The school’s elementary students, grades PK-5, are located at 211 S. Lopez in Mid-City, and the high school, grades 9-12, is at 1301 N. Derbigny in Treme.“While we enjoyed our time on Esplanade Avenue, we are thrilled to have a beautifully renovated new campus that our middle school can call home,”  said Ms. Perkins. “As Morris Jeff continues to grow and reach a larger student population, we are so grateful to have a new home and opportunities to support our middle schoolers and allow them to thrive.”NOLA-PS Superintendent Dr. Henderson Lewis, Jr. announced his decision yesterday to re-site three charter management organizations as a first step in what will be a multi-year project of District optimization. “These recommendations were made after careful review and evaluation of all applications to determine the optimal qualified operator for each facility,” said Superintendent Lewis. “I believe these schools will maximize the use of the campuses and continue to fulfill the District’s mission of providing a high-quality education for the students it serves.”####Morris Jeff is a top-performing, open-admissions public charter school serving over 1400 students in Orleans Parish.
