Celebrating over a decade as a charter school, the International School of Louisiana is the only Louisiana school to be named a “Charter School of the Year” by the Center for Education Reform. With a mission to provide a challenging education emphasizing French and Spanish language immersion, international awareness, the celebration of diversity and community responsibility, ISL was the first public school in the state to offer language instruction in Mandarin Chinese. Located in the New Orleans’ Lower Garden District and old Algiers on the westbank, the school boasts a new multi-language libraries and computer labs.
