New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School “Sci High” to Hold Graduation May 27Drive-in ceremony to include a full graduation with diploma distribution on stage and parade

WHAT: New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School “Sci High” will hold a drive-in graduation ceremony for its Class of 2020.  The ceremony will be drive-in style with students safely in their cars. The event will be a full graduation and students will still get the opportunity to walk the stage to collect their diploma at a safe distance. Once all students have been awarded their diploma, students, parents, and staff are invited to participate in a parade through the city.

WHEN: Wednesday, May 27 at 11 am

WHERE: Delgado City Park Campus (near WYES Studios at 916 Navarre Ave. between Orleans and Marshal Foch)

WHY: One by one students and families will get out of the car and have their own mini graduation.  Seniors will be presented with gifts including traditional letters from seniors, Sci High Alumni Shirts, Class of 2020 Wooden Nautili (made on the Sci High laser cutter) and a Sci High Face Mask.Students walking the stage will be recorded and live-streamed on the Sci High – New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School Facebook live page. The keynote speech and Valedictorian and Salutatorian speeches will be taped and shown during the ceremony or at a later date.The parade will go down Navarre Ave. and take a right on Orleans, then a left on the 1st cross street toward Dreyfous Dr., and continue on Dreyfous Dr. toward Esplanade Ave.
