Celebrating Over 60 Years of Arts in Education
NEW ORLEANS, LA, 11/6/2023 – Young Audiences of Louisiana (YALA) will hold the 2nd Annual YALA Fa La La on Thursday, November 30th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Our event will be held at the lovely family home of YALA Board Member Colin Sternhell, courtesy of our hosts Norma Grace and Bob Sternhell. YALA Fa La La will feature fine fare, libations, music by Julio and Cesar, and a live art auction.
Pieces for the live auction were collaboratively live-painted by art students and professional artists at our YALA Art Live event at Urban South Brewery in April. Our 2023 auction features Lanyra Brown, 12th grade West Jefferson High School and Max Bernardi; Shawn Carter, 12th grade Young Audiences Charter School and Alina Allen; Sanai Doxey, 8th grade Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts and Jamar Pierre; and Kailib Hoang, 11th grade, Young Audiences Charter School and Kentrice Schexnayder.
To add to the fun, Diamonds Direct returns as our Sparkle Sponsor for a second year in a row. Every person who purchases a ticket is entered into a raffle for a chance to win one of three gift certificates from Diamonds Direct. However, beyond the bling, every purchased ticket will make a positive impact on children across the state of Louisiana.
All proceeds from the YALA Fa La La will support YALA’s arts-in-education programs for students and families. Purchase a ticket, become a sponsor, or make a donation to show your support of YALA’s mission to inspire, engage, and unite children and communities through education, arts, and culture. Ticket prices start at $125. To learn more, visit www.ya4la.org/falala.
This year’s event will be chaired by Gail Barnes McKenna & Colin Sternhell along with Honorary Chairs, Dr. Tamer Acikalin and Stella Del Bianco. A special thank you to the event committee: Beverly Matheney, Nicole Mingledorff, Marguerite Moisio, Jamelyn Trucks, and Mario Zervignon.
